Join Masters

We recruit broadly so we can select narrowly.

Masters Consulting Group continuously looks for exceptional professionals with master's-level or higher education in the fields they represent. Advanced education is the starting requirement. Admission depends on demonstrated capability, judgment, integrity, communication, and the quality of work Masters is willing to place its name behind.

Why the name

The degree requirement is real. It is not the whole standard.

The firm was named around a staffing principle: professionals should have advanced formal education relevant to the domain in which they advise. A master's-level or higher credential establishes eligibility for evaluation; it does not establish mastery by itself.

Complex client problems may require management, engineering, finance, organizational psychology, cybersecurity, chemistry, supply chain, data science, or another discipline. Masters should bring in people whose actual training and demonstrated competence belong to the problem rather than asking one generalist to pretend expertise in every field.

The Masters standard

Applying is not membership.

Admission means Masters is prepared to place its institutional reputation behind a professional's judgment in the domain they represent.

  1. 01

    Verified foundation

Relevant graduate education is verified. Licenses and regulated credentials are verified where the work requires them.

  2. 02

    Evidence of capability

We look for substantive work appropriate to the discipline: systems, analyses, research, cases, technical artifacts, operating outcomes, publications, designs, code, or other credible evidence.

  3. 03

    Domain reasoning

Candidates should be able to reason through an ambiguous real-world problem, distinguish evidence from assumption, identify missing information, and state the limits of their own competence.

  4. 04

    Consulting ability

Expertise must be usable. We value clear communication, business understanding, constructive disagreement, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and recommendations that can survive implementation.

  5. 05

    Operating fit

Intellectual honesty, reliability, respect, ownership, confidentiality, evidence discipline, client stewardship, and the ability to receive criticism matter as much as raw intelligence.

  6. 06

    Continuing standing

Admission is not a permanent exemption from standards. Actual conduct, collaboration, judgment, and engagement history continue to matter.

The work you would join

Serious problems, done at a standard you can defend.

Masters exists to help institutions make durable decisions — which means the work is intellectually demanding, evidence-bound, and accountable to whether the organization actually improved.

  • Problems that cross strategy, operations, technology, people, and implementation at once.
  • Recommendations that must survive contact with a real organization.
  • Evidence that carries its source and date, and conclusions that state their own limits.
  • A willingness to conclude that a client should buy nothing, keep what they have, or change process instead of technology.
  • Service to institutions that outlast any single technology generation.

How consideration works

Continuous recruiting does not mean a fake immediate opening.

Some opportunities are tied to current engagements; others arise as client needs develop. Introducing your work places you into consideration for work requiring your specific expertise. It does not imply that an immediate position or engagement is open.

As the formal application system is built, candidates may be asked for graduate credentials, representative work, domains of competence, areas they should not lead, relevant experience, availability, and other evidence needed to evaluate fit responsibly.

Professional introduction

Seven steps, then you review exactly what Masters will read.

This is a professional introduction, not an application to a posted vacancy. Nothing you write is scored by a model — a person reads it. You see and can edit every answer before anything is sent.

Masters does not accept file or resume uploads. Please link to work that is already public, or describe it. Do not send confidential client material, credentials, or anything you are not free to share.

Loading the introduction… If this message remains, the guided form needs JavaScript, or it is temporarily unavailable. Everything above still stands.

Your answers stay in this browser tab while you work, so a failed submission never means retyping. They are cleared once the submission succeeds.

Before you introduce your work

Who is building Masters.

Masters Consulting Group is being built by Joseph Walker. If you would like professional context on the person behind the standard before deciding whether to introduce your own work, his profile is public.

This is optional professional context. It is not the application mechanism, it is not required, and Masters does not use a social profile as identity verification or as evidence of capability.

The admission question

Would we trust you to own the part of the problem that we cannot?

Masters is not trying to build the largest expert directory. The goal is to build a deliberately selected group of professionals whose expertise can be brought together when a client problem genuinely requires it.
